Killean’s Surgeries for Broken, Dislocated Ankle

Hi everyone, Luna here, Killean’s wife. I’m starting this GoFundMe to help cover Killean’s medical bills and related expenses after she unfortunately broke and dislocated her ankle on Sunday, May 18th, 2025.

It was around 1 a.m. I was away at the time, and she was taking our elderly Mimi for her final walk of the night. Many thanks to Hannah for walking our pups throughout the day while I rebooked to fly back that same day.

Some of you might have seen the photos, and as you know, it was a severe break. Killean is currently unable to walk and is using crutches at home, navigating the steps of our apartment building by scooting. Thankfully, we live on the first floor.

The initial surgery involved stabilizing her ankle with pins and rods to prevent the tibia from shifting backward. The next surgery, aimed at repairing the damage, is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27th, 2025. We are immensely grateful for all the positive thoughts and healing wishes you’ve sent her way!

In addition to the medical bills and expenses (ambulance, overnight stay, two surgeries, labs, numerous x-rays, CT scan, prescription medications, etc.), Killean’s metal-casting work has come to an unforeseen halt, resulting in a loss of income, which will also impact our move to Tennessee this summer.

Any assistance, whether financial contributions to help cover the unexpected medical expenses or kind words of encouragement, would mean the world to us. Your generosity will allow Killean to focus on healing and getting back on her feet, both literally and figuratively.
